Support for NPPs in cities

Near-hysteria over the potential destructive forces is periodically observed around the Russian-designed nuclear power plants (NPPs) being built in Belarus. Meanwhile, as world experience has shown, city dwellers are ready, not only to accept nuclear power plants, but may actually pray for them. At the beginning of this year, in the run up to the Nuclear Power Referendum, a rally in defence of nuclear power plants was held in Belene, Bulgaria, and it included a special intercessory prayer service.

Minsk to host International railway business-forum for Central and Eastern Europe

The 1520 Strategic Partnership’ Central and Eastern Europe international railway business forum will be held in Belarus on 10 October with the support of Belarusian Railways and Russian Railways. The forum will include representatives from the national railway companies of the CIS countries and the European Union, international organisations and the relevant State administration bodies.

Western gates of the Union

In the near future the State Customs Committee of Belarus will host a meeting of the Belarusian customs authorities, representatives of the Podlaskie Voivodeship and of the Polish Customs Service. The meeting will discuss urgent issues concerning the implementation of the international technical assistance projects for both the construction of the Polovtsy check-point on the Polish side and the construction of the Peschatka check-point on the Belarusian side.

Development Bank of Belarus is assigned a credit rating

Union State to introduce a single register for stroke patients

Belarus bans pork imports from the Vladimir Region

Belarus has imposed a ban on the import of pork from the Vladimir Region of Russia due to the spread of African swine fever (ASF) in the region. The directive is posted on the website of the Department of Veterinary and Food Supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus.

Between January and July Belarus increased exports to Russia

Between January and July 2013 Belarus exported USD 9,605.7 million worth of goods to Russia - up by 5.7% from the same period of 2012. This has been reported to BELTA by the National Statistics Committee of Belarus.
