Presidential Elections Campaign in Russia About to Finish

“The Russian Public Opinion Research Center – the VCIOM – suggested a new forecast of the presidential elections results . According to the forecast, 68.5% of Russians, who have the right to vote, will take part in the elections. The winner will be already defined in the first round and it will be Dmitry Medvedev, who will get 73.5% of votes. Gennady Zyuganov will come second with 13.5% of votes, according to the forecast of the VCIOM. The leader of the LDPR party Vladimir Zhirinovsky will be the third with 11.6% of votes. The self-nominated candidate Andrei Bogdanov will only get 1.35% of votes” ( “The Commersant”) .

Mr. Surkov “was in a fury” because of the request of 31 deputies concerning the total domination of Mr. Medvedev during the TV broadcast” (“The Nezavisimaya Newspaper”).

“Dmitry Medvedev can already announce a Constitution reform during the next few days . It is supposed that the Russian President’s staying in office will be prolonged up to 6 or 7 years. It will be accompanied by some loss of power of the head of state. It is expected that the reform will come into effect after the presidential elections of 2012” (“ APN.ru”) .

“Russia cannot be a parliamentary republic, the center of power will remain in the Kremlin after the presidential elections of March 2, - claimed Fist Vice-President Dmitry Medvedev, running for the post of president. “Decisions will be made according to the Constitution and the link President - Prime Minister will prove its efficiency” (the RIA «Novosty»).

“We lack a clear understanding of our goals. General well - being ?
