The main building of the freight terminal “Kozlovichi-2” was put in operation on March 4, 2008 in Brest. The amount of work done was assessed by Alexander Shpilevsky - Chairperson of State Customs Committee, representatives of the European Commission, and the prime contractor – a Polish construction company BUDIMEX S.A.

The Chairperson of Belarus’ State Customs Committee informed the journalists that the main building of the freight terminal “Kozlovichi-2” will be equipped with everything necessary, as well as computer technique, by September. “When the new modern facilities of customs infrastructure were put into operation, the Belarusian border became one of the best equipped ones in Europe, which makes it possible to ensure efficient customs and other types of control within minimal time limits”, – stressed Alexander Shpilevsky.

The construction of the freight terminal “Kozlovichi-2” began in 2005 within the framework of an investments project of the EU TACIS programme for transborder cooperation.

According to Ivan Pashkevich, Head of Department for Development of Customs Infrastructure of the State Customs Committee, 14 million euro, that had been allocated within the TACIS programme, have been used in full by present. 2 milliard Belarusian roubles are allocated from the republican budget for completion of building the infrastructure facilities of freight terminal “Kozlovichi-2”. In general about 7 million euro is required for finalizing the work.

According to the plan, the project capacity of the customs terminal “Kozlovichi-2” is 4 thousand cars a day (in both directions), which fully corresponds to the capacity of the Polish Koroszczyn terminal.
