Andrei Yevdochenko noted, that the current issues of cooperation of the Republic of Belarus and the EU, including those concerning Belarus’ return into the EU preferential system, were discussed during the talks.

European lawyers, dealing with such matters, were present at the negotiations within the business council “Belarus-EU”. “We would like them to recommend how to do it better”, - said the Deputy Minister. In this respect a step-by step strategy can be used for Belarus’ return into the EU preferential system. At that Andrei Yevdochenko emphasized, that Belarus had never stopped its dialogue with the International Labour Organization. “Today we are doing our best in order to return to our previous positions in trade relations”, - he noted.

Besides, Mr. Yevdochenko stated, that the business council “Belarus-EU” will promote the dialogue on Belarus’ entering the WTO during negotiations with the EU member-states. “It’s a strategic direction in the activities of the business council, and the negotiations with the EU member-states on entering the WTO are of key importance in this respect. We’ll be developing this crucial direction within the framework of our council”, - said the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Belarus.

According to him, allocation of Belarusian goods during deliveries to the European market will be among the important issues the council will deal with. The council will also stimulate lowering antidumping duties, that are applied to a number of Belarusian products in the EU countries. Moreover, it is planned to activate work in the field of delivering Belarusian agricultural products, as well as products of the chemical industry to the EU market. These, as well as some other goods are delivered there according to special schemes; there are special delivery terms, that are connected with their certifying and standardization. The business council can also assist the Belarusian party in this respect.

“We can solve many complex questions connected with Belarus’ representation in the European market within the framework of such meetings”, - stressed Mr. Yevdochenko.
