Belarusian Delegation Takes Part in 63rd U.N.O. General Meeting

Belarus has always emphasized the international significance of the U.N.O. which maintains peace and stabilizers the political situation on the planet. Unfortunately, in the last ten years the U.N.O. has lost a part of its hold. In many ways it is can be attributed to steep ambitions of the USA . Our country consistently votes for a multipolar world, and above all for strengthening U.N.O. positions.

Belarus has always emphasized the international significance of the U.N.O. which maintains peace and stabilizers the political situation on the planet. Unfortunately, in the last ten years the U.N.O. has lost a part of its hold. In many ways it is can be attributed to steep ambitions of the USA . Our country consistently votes for a multipolar world, and above all for strengthening U.N.O. positions.

For instance, next week a general political discussion will be continued within the regular U.N.O. session. The speech of Andrei Dapkyunas, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Belarus at the U.N.O., is scheduled for Monday, September 29th (de bene esse) and will be made within the framework of the general political discussion. The Head of Belarusian diplomatic mission will voice our country’s updated approaches and proposals concerning crucial issues and problems on international agenda as well as the intensification of U.N.O.’s significance in worldwide processes.

At the current session Belarusian delegation will be working to promote a number of initiatives. In particular, it is planned to submit draft resolution on coordination of efforts aimed at human traffic control as well as on prohibition to develop and produce new kinds of weapons of mass destruction and systems of such weapons.

Besides that, it is planned to hold some large-scale consultations with other delegations so as to promote the proposal of Belarus to organize during 63rd U.N.O. General Meeting some informal theme hearings aimed at guaranteeing all states the access to new technologies of increase in energy efficiency and use of alternative and renewable energy.

It is also planned to add new members to the U.N.O. Scientific Committee on Atomic Radiation Effect, including a Belarusian representative.
